'07-Integrity Board Info

Finally some info about what's going on over at Integrity! For all those that desperately wait to order their '07 skates, like me, it's rather bad news.
Erich Schmaltz, mastermind behind Integrity, just posted some news about their company/production stats at wakeskating.com. Facts are that they are having trouble with their manufacturer, again, which led them to start cooperating with another manufacturer. This means that they are somewhat forced to not ship boards this year!
Good news though is that they are working on new production methods and new boards (shapes, materials, ...). So it's worth the wait!

For anyone that wants further info check this thread on wakeskating.com.

Skate'n'Slide Volume 2

After success from the last year, it was for the organizers a clear case to be ready again for 2007. The Event had written history in 2006 in Switzerland - the first swiss wakeskate contest. July the event will take place on the singular location of previous year , which is red factory in Zurich, and will be ending with the obligatory party in the early morning hour.

Trampoline Wakeskating

At first something without a trampoline: Check out the latest shizzle from Reed Hansen at Projects riding a Ronix bi-level wakeskate prototype, a really quick edit from Flow Media so some of it might be a little not so good but whatever look here.

Now to the trampoline stuff, a tramp can easily help you to learn kickflips and shuvits. Spacial awareness and muscle memory that is required to nail big tricks can effectively be trained.

Here two gnarly videos: first from chriscut on a real wakeskate (YouTube),

the second is unbelievable Nick Taylor on a lunch tray :) or something like a Guru Trampboard. Click here to see the video (wakeskating.com).

WE NEED A TRAMPOLINE FOR THE GERMAN WAKESKATE CHAMPIONSHIP, If someone has a trampoline or knows someone who would sponsor one for the championship weekend as a tricktrainer (15.09.2007), he will be very welcome at cable island (a lot of free drinks will wait for you).

Video CWC Open 2007 Wakeskate

Here are the official results (very late) and a new video from the Open CWC Wakeskate event.

Pro Wakeskate:
1. John Ruark USA 70
2. Brett Little USA 48.33
3. Brian Grubb USA 40
4. Brandon Thomas USA 26.67

"U.S. riders dominated the Pro Wakeskate division, taking the top 4 spots. John Ruark of Orlando, FL won the division with highly technical tricks on both the obstacles and on the flats that had even the untrained eyes cheering. Bret Little of San Marcos, TX was right behind him with his aggressive rail riding and spins off the kickers. Huge names in the boating world, Brian Grubb and Brandon Thomas, rounded out 3rd and 4th, respectively, proving they can compete in any format whether it’s boat, pwc, cable, or winch riding."

Romboso Jam 2007

07.14.2007 the legendary Romboso Jam will take place! It doesn't matter what happens on this weekend - if you can remember last year's jam you know: It will be an awesome event during daytime and a big party in the night. The week before this event is Session Week. Whatever this is? I hope I've got more information next week. Here's a short video from the last Jam, 2006.

Verge Wakeskate

Here are the specs and design proposals for the new 07 Verge bi-level wakeskates. I like the square design! Looks like Treeknowledge or Kampus skates, but is a bi-level.
Specs:
  • 14.75" mid width
  • 12" tip widths
  • 40.5" length
  • New ultra tough Dura-surf base for more durabilty on sliders and everday wear and tear.
  • Bottom is totally smooth, no protruding hardware, or even countersunk hardware.
  • Slightly lighter weight than last year at around 12 lbs
  • stainless oversized hardware
  • .85" fins optional for more control on the water
They should be up and ready for sale in about two weeks. Remember, the release date for the Liquid Force SST skate is 06-20-2007. I think with the Dura surf base, this skate is good on cable parks with a lot of obstacles. Give bi-level skates a chance for usage at cable parks! For more information look at the Verge homepage or go to wakeskating.com in this discussion threat. Here's a little video from these skates.

Stop Two of Byerly Toe Jam

The 2nd stop of Byerly Toe Jam is done. Here is an amazing video from this event. Watch out though - this video is 200MB (5:01 min HQ), but worth of each megabyte. A smaller version can be found on google video here.

Progression - skate bumps

For all cable riders, this video is a must. John Ruark "The Lizard King" has won the Cablestock at Texas Ski Ranch and the CWC open on the Phillipinies in May. This is his new promo video for New Wakeskates. The idea with the skate bumbs though is not so new.

"Kampus have a wide assortment of skate fins in every depth imaginable, with nearly any purpose you could ask for. From their standard fiberglass fins, to their solid skate bumps and skate fins, and then some unnamed manual jobby, their fin line is nothing short of well rounded." Surf Expo 2006 wakeskating.com
